Competition Open to All

There are prizes to be won in the SCPSW competition for a short story for children, closing date 31 October 2016.

Maximum 2,000 words, typed with word count, First Prize £100; Second Prize £50; Entry Fee £5 for non-members; £3 for members. New entrants who join the Society at the time of the competition will be eligible for a reduction of £2. Cheques should be made out to the SCPSW.

Those eligible to join the Society include serving or retired members of the Civil Service, Armed Forces, National Health Service, Local Government, the Police Force or any Public Service. For details of membership send SAE to Bernie Bickerton, c/o 10 Malcolm Road, Woodside, London SE25 5HG. There is no entry form. Write an entry intended age group. The winning story will be published in The Author, and the second prize may also be published in a later edition.

Entries should be typed, single-sided, on A4 paper and should not have been published before either in The Author or elsewhere. All entries should bear only the name of the competition being entered, a title, the author’s pen name (which should be varied to avoid recognition) and a separate sheet quoting: the name of the competition being entered, pen name, title, real name and address. Entries returned if accompanied by SAE.
